How We Planned the Wall to Wall Carpet Fit
Before any carpet was cut, we checked the existing floor for level differences, loose debris and moisture, because a clean subfloor is what keeps wall to wall bedroom carpet flat for years. The hallway was the trickiest part, with a long, narrow run, a doorway and a turn into the bedroom. We planned the layout so the pile direction ran the same way through both spaces, keeping the colour consistent from every angle. Seams were placed away from the main walking line, and we used a high-density underlay to add comfort, reduce noise and protect the carpet backing.
The Final Result and the Owner’s Reaction
Installation was completed in two days. On day one, our fitters laid gripper rods along the edges, fitted the underlay and stretched the bedroom carpet with a power stretcher so it sits tight without ripples or loose spots. Day two covered the hallway, where we joined the sections with heat-seal tape and trimmed neatly along the skirting and door thresholds. Once everything was fitted, we vacuumed and groomed the pile. As with any new plush carpet, light shading marks appear where the fibres are brushed in different directions, and these settle naturally within the first few weeks.
The finished result is a seamless, soft pink floor that flows from the bedroom into the hallway and blends beautifully with the floral wall covering. The space now feels calmer, quieter and far more comfortable underfoot, especially with bare feet.
